Cache County Man Arrested for Distribution of Child Pornography FREE TO GO thanks to New Judicial Council Bail Policy

Kurt Allen Jensen, 62, was arrested October 7th and charged with 10 counts of exploitation of a minor after authorities seized child pornography in Jensen’s home.

According to a KUTV report

On Oct. 7, the Utah Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a residential search warrant at the reported address.

Investigators made contact with Jensen at the residence and he requested an attorney be present during questioning. He was the only person home.

The affidavit states the MAC address–a unique identifier to the internet router–listed on the router in Jensen’s home matched the IP address associated with the files of child porn obtained by law enforcement.

“When ICAC agents executed the search warrant, the internet router was unplugged and disconnected,” the affidavit states. “This is because it was known that the suspect user on the P2P program was actively downloading and distributing child pornography. A review of the P2P program (after Jensen was contacted) showed that files of child pornography stopped being distributed by the captured IP address three minutes after the execution of the residential search warrant.”

Agents also found several electric items and hidden cameras in bedrooms and a bathroom.

The affidavit states forensic searches of the hidden cameras’ SD cards show Jensen setting up the cameras and placing them in the specific spots.

Jensen has a previous criminal record, including a conviction for aggravated sex abuse of a child in 1994 and voyeurism involving a child in 2007, according to the affidavit.

Agents say Jensen is a “danger to the community” and to the children who live near him.

Despite being a “danger to the community” with recommended bail of $100,000, Jensen was released with no bail at all on a “promise to appear.”
